More costumes on parade participants, this time in the Plaza de Armas.

• Our plane at the Bradley Terminal at LAX - LAN Flight 601 direct to Lima
• Our first day in Lima we went towards the Plaza de Armas, or central plaza. On the way, we hit our first of many parades. There were large groups of people who would share a costume, all playing the same song and dancing the same dance as the rest of the groups - it was a huge party, and aparently they do it every sunday.
• A detail of one of the costumes of the parade groups. No idea what it means!
• A group of dancers on a side street near the Plaza de Armas. The top hats are all over peru, there are stories that someone bought a load of too small hats and had the smart idea to sell them to women as fashion accessories - and it stuck. No idea if it's true, but it's a good story and the hats are everywhere.

• Inside the Cathedral de Lima
• This was taken on our first day, but pretty much summed up the planning aspect of the rest of the trip - check the book, then point and compare!
• The tomb of Francisco Pizarro, the Spanish Conquistador who discovered and conquered the Incas.

Also, amusingly, the previous text of this comment -- from "The Tomb" to "the incas" -- also somehow conquered this entire album in iPhoto - all 307 photos had that caption appended to their description. Thanks, Pizarro, appreciate the continuing conquering!
• Horses ready to participate in the changing of the guard
• The president of Peru, Ollanta Humala - he came out and worked the entire crowd, and I was about 6 inches from getting a handshake or high five - Yupeng was able to get a handshake
• Courtyard in the Convent of Santo Domingo
• Very old book in the library at the Convent of Santo Domingo
• Inside the church at the Convent of Santo Domingo, taken from the upstairs balcony.
• A seat in the old choir room at the Convent, we were confused as to why his head is on backwards...
• The three saints of the Convent
• These are the actual skulls of the saints - not at all a bit
• The Cathedral de Lima
• Ummmmm, make up your own caption. The Pepsi cup is filled with Triple Kola, the Pepsi version of Inca Kola.
• …MEANWHILE, AT THE PALACE OF JUSTICE!
• Our first PIsco Sours, at La Rosa Nautica - "The Compass Rose"
