A view of Lima - while Lima was a cool city with nice areas, good food, and lots of good parades, it was also a pretty flat, sort of unremarkable city skyline - totally worth a visit, but don't expect visual fireworks. The reason we were told that everything is so flat is that there are so many earthquakes that they don't want to build up too much.

  • Another chullpa, the black square in the bottom is a hole that all of the chullpas had - it faces east, possibly so that the holes are positioned so that the sunlight enters the hole on the equinox
  • Some of the less impressive chullpas - possibly for less noble people, possibly just older.
  • The pathway down from the main area of chullpas back to the entrance. More stairs!
  • Another set of the "good luck bulls"/toritos de Pucara - note that these bulls are flanking a chullpa!
  • The art in our hotel room for our final night in Lima. Classy! (And availble for sale no less!)
