Another shot of Wayna Picchu, it's like foreshadowing or something.

  • A bunch of the cascaded evaporation ponds. They would divert and stem the various feeder streams using all sorts of stuff like plastic bags, rocks, etc.
  • Love the pictoral on the bathrooms - Lady Golfers and Male Batters! (And SSHH is "Servicios Higenicos", and aparently in spanish you double the letters in an acronym, i.e. EEUU for "Estados Unidos")
  • More salt ponds at Maras
  • A worker…checking salt? Looking at his shadow? Dunno what he's doing, really.
  • It was a weird scene, almost like a snowy mountain…in the desert.
  • We walked down from Maras to the river in the valley, and it was a very hot, dusty walk. Thankfully we were going down, not up!
  • Kay on the bridge across the Rio Urubamba
  • They had a couple cool parrots outside the restaurant that we ate lunch at - <br />Restaurante Tunupan
  • A view from our hotel in the Valle Sagrado (Sacred Valley) - The Hotel Inkallpa
  • Bread being warmed/smoked at dinner at the Casa Andina Valle Sagrado. Luckily for us, we were sitting right next to us and it also smoked us, too - we smelled so BBQlicious!
  • Dessert at Casa Andina - it had fruit, sorbet, and a eucalyptus jelly that was really different, and yummy.
  • Look, a parade! (Outside Casa Andina Valle Sagrado)
  • A PeruRail Vista Dome train as we waited at the Ollantaytambo train station for our Vista Dome to Aguas Calliente (Machu Picchu)
  • We're almost on a train! (To Machu Picchu…)
  • Awww yeah, 'sup?
  • Kind of blurry, but here's a picture of what the inside of the train looked like - pretty light and open, a nice train ride.
  • Welcome to Aguas Callientes, the town at the base of Machu Picchu!
  • And I'm guessing everyknow knows what this is - the classic shot of Machu Picchu, with the peak in the near background Wayna Picchu - more to come on Wayna Picchu!
